I was invited as a guest speaker at Sastra University which is one of the renowned universities in India to deliver a tech talk to the IoT students group. I was talking more about the modern web technologies, data interchanging formats for web and how to connect all the IoT devices to the web easily and How Mozilla is taking steps to solve this problems. Here, I was talking more about the Node JS programming language and it's role in today's web applications.

I also talked more on open source tools like postman and modern javascript libraries to develop and test the web applications. Later, I introduced the students the use of web browser extensions like Wappalyzer and how they can use it to identify the web technologies used in a web app. A hands on session on Mozilla's Web Things gateway and how it can be used to securely control their home appliances were explained. I also explained, how students can develop their own adapters to use with the gateway and can contribute to Mozilla. Nearly 70 -80 students attended this talk and gained knowledge on Web technologies, open source tools and IoT platforms. At the end QA sessions took place were students cleared their doubts on cloud, IoT protocols and IoT security. Some of the memorable moments were captured too.
